About Newville

Incorporated in 1817, the town of Newville, located around 10 miles south of Carlisle on Route 11 in South Central Pennsylvania is a town rich in history and abundant in friendly citizens. The downtown area of Newville is small but very clean and attractive with a few restaurants and shopping options.

The location of Newville is hard to beat. The Blue Ridge mountain range supplies a beautiful backdrop to the farmland and open fields of Newville. Fishermen travel from near and far to fish in the second largest fresh water spring stream in the country, Big Spring.

Newville is also part of the Cumberland Valley Rails to Trails. A trail for biking, jogging and walking that currently runs from Newville to Shippensburg, about an 11 mile trek one way.

Newville is home to Big Spring School District.
